Water Sanctum Mixed Media Sculpture

This was a personal multimedia project between Blender and Minecraft. The figure was first modeled by hand in Blender and given armature to pose as needed, allowing for reuse in different projects later on. A remesh node was used to retopologize the figure into cubic voxels, where it was adjusted for optimal clarity. It was then separated by layer to create a sort of instruction manual for building in-game. WorldEdit was used to clear out the ocean, but the figure itself was built up by hand, layer by layer.
Overall, it was a project that took a few days to complete, but I am fairly satisfied with the outcome. Utilizing outside programs to generate organic shapes can be a great method of streamlining an otherwise complicated workflow. This method in particular is useful for unmodified versions of Minecraft, where even in Survival mode the blueprints generated can allow you to create complicated structures by breaking them down into simple, readable layers.
