8Bit Destroys The World [Proof of Concept]

8-Bit Destroys the World is a 3D platformer set in a recovering post-apocalyptic landscape starring the titular character 8-Bit, a cheeky delinquent youngster tasked with recovering scraps of an ancient device to thwart the uprising of an evil prophet.

The game is driven at first by a loose narrative of fun and playful adventure akin to classic 3D platformers of the early 2000’s, which however slowly accumulates to a total subversion of expectations as 8-Bit is forced to realize the true peril they have put themself into by opposing the villain. As they discover, the villain is overwhelmingly dangerous and will truly not allow anything or anyone to stand in his way.

My mission is to develop a fun, bouncy and unique game experience that is satisfying to play and one that provides legitimately emotional and profound story beats through the actions of the player, both intentional or otherwise.

All houses were created with modularity in mind. Nearly an unlimited variation in building shape can be created with a simple few pieces. Extra props such as metal plates and chimneys add to the variation.
